Most of those years were spent owning and operating Canadian Border Outfitters (CBO) located on Moose Lake, 20 miles east of Ely Minnesota. Here, Pat and Chickie outfitted wilderness canoe trips in to the famed Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW) and Ontario's Quetico Provincial Park.
Literally thousands of folks have been introduced to the Ely area, wilderness canoe camping, & fishing, through Canadian Border Outfitters & the detailed training provided by the couple.
After many great years at Canadian Border Outfitters, both Pat and Chickie were looking forward to trying out a new adventure.
For two years they scoured Ontario, Manitoba and the entire Canadian north, searching for just the right location.
The walleye and northern pike fishing had to be great, the scenery had to be breathtaking, the location had to be remote, and the lake had to be magnificent. There's nothing quite like the peaceful beauty found at a fly-in lodge, especially one that is situated on the border of two great wilderness areas!
The resort they found is accessible only by float plane and sits on the edge of both the Atikaki Wilderness Area in Manitoba, and Woodland Caribou Provincial Park in Ontario .
The hard work and long hours that are needed to properly maintain a wilderness fly-in resort are nothing new for your hosts. Rest assured that both Pat and Chickie will do what it takes to make your Canadian fly-in adventure an enjoyable one. Finding the
"hot spots" for fishing and taking the time to make sure you have the right lures and techniques are all a part of their service to you, their guest.

They welcome your questions by e-mails or phone calls. Allow them to introduce you to another
"jewel" of the north - Shining Falls Lodge of Manitoba!
